Grupo Valora is a Spanish business group based in the Canary Islands with over 40 years of experience in transportation, logistics, and information management. It operates under the SEUR brand in the Canary Islands and Valladolid, and has business units specialised in advanced logistics solutions, digitisation, and data custody, with a presence both in the Canary Islands and mainland Spain.

To reinforce its culture of responsibility and compliance, Grupo Valora partnered with Whistlelink to implement a secure and efficient whistleblowing system—accessible across its distributed operations and aligned with national and EU legislation.

The challenge: Fostering trust and access in a hierarchical, operational setting

The greatest challenge was building trust in the whistleblowing system, particularly within Grupo Valora’s logistics-linked companies, where a traditionally hierarchical and operational culture prevails. These areas tend to be less familiar with whistleblowing tools and have more limited access to digital resources.

Employees needed assurance that:

  • – Their reports would be taken seriously and properly investigated 
  • – The non-retaliation policy would be upheld
  • – A secure and functional channel would support confidential and anonymous reporting.

 

Although only one company in the group is legally required to implement an ethics channel, Grupo Valora chose to extend the solution across the entire organisation. This decision was driven by a strong belief in its broader benefits: strengthening ethical culture, promoting prevention, and encouraging continuous improvement. It reflects the firm commitment of the leadership to regulatory compliance and to building a transparent and principled corporate culture throughout the group.

To ensure the system is understood and used effectively, the Compliance team reinforces quarterly communications and delivers tailored training sessions based on different roles and realities across the organisation.

Finally, leaders play a crucial role in promoting the Ethics Channel, conveying its value as a protective tool for everyone and highlighting the importance of ethical conduct and tone from the top.

Whistlelink provided Grupo Valora with a whistleblowing system tailored to the pace and structure of logistics operations. Key features included:

Implementation and results: A strategic rollout for culture and compliance

The implementation focused on three key areas:

  • Group-wide deployment – The whistleblowing channel was rolled out across all companies in the group, with access enabled via multiple digital platforms including the website and intranet.
  • Internal communication campaigns – Regular updates using clear, accessible materials explained the channel’s purpose, how to use it, and the guarantees it offers, including anonymity, confidentiality, and non-retaliation.

  • Targeted training – Tailored sessions, both in-person and digital, provided employees with guidance on when and how to report, fostering a culture of integrity across roles.

Additional efforts were made with middle management to reinforce their role as facilitators and ambassadors of ethical culture.

As a result, Grupo Valora achieved:

  • Full organisational coverage – All employees across the group now have secure, reliable access to the channel.

  • Increased engagement – Use of the channel has gradually increased, with reports focused on prevention and improving the working environment.

  • Stronger internal perception – Feedback from internal surveys shows that employees increasingly view the Ethics Channel as a trusted protection tool.

  • Reinforced leadership commitment – Senior leaders have actively promoted the system and modelled ethical behaviour, reinforcing tone from the top.

These developments have positioned the Ethics Channel as a strategic tool not just for reporting irregularities, but also for building internal trust and transparency.
